THE AIMS OF THE APOSTOLATE
There are four aims as follows:
The sanctification of its members. The gift of holiness the Lord gave us from the beginning, but we need reminding of it all the time. We are never to settle for second best, we are always to seek holiness itself, never to think we have gone far enough.
To promote greater honour to the Holy Eucharist and to pray for priests and for vocations to the priesthood and religious life. It is always important that the Holy Eucharist should be at the centre of our devotion. There have been changes in the liturgy within the life of the Church, yet the Holy Eucharist is obviously meant to be the centre. So it is good to be reminded of that frequently, especially in the daily prayers.
To promote the recitation of the Rosary – Rosary Circles, Rosary Rallies, Vigils of Prayer and similar activities. Rosary circles are the cornerstone of the Apostolate – the title ‘Rosary Circle’ denotes groups of people visiting the Blessed Sacrament and praying together in a meditative way for the needs of the Church and the world. Usually they are small and yet tremendously faithful. That is the mark of their importance in the life of the Church. Rosary Rallies are the means of thousands of people of all denominations coming together to give witness of their belief in the Risen Lord and their care and concern for a broken world. Vigils of Prayer – these are that special sign of giving some length of time to prayer.
To promote the wearing of the Brown Scapular of Our Lady of Mount Carmel as a mark that we have dedicated ourselves to her service. Since the Scapular is a sign of total consecration to Mary, it must be a constant reminder to imitate her life of prayer, faith and service. Mary lived to serve her Divine Son. The Scapular should remind us always to be about our Father’s business.
